Known for luxury plumbing products, hotels and golf courses, billionaire Herbert V. Kohler of Wisconsin died Sept. 3 at the age of 83. He attended Furman University briefly in 1962 before returning to Yale University to earn a degree in industrial administration. Milwaukee Business Journal (subscription required) the Wisconsin Rapids Tribune, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, and multiple other outlets carried the story. “The Bold Look of Kohler” became more than a catchy slogan for the company under Kohler’s leadership, wrote the Sentinel; it became a rallying cry for the firm’s employees. ‘“We have the people, the products, the focus, the resources and the passion to pursue our mission and compete successfully,”’ Kohler once told associates.
