PARKERSBURG — The Mid-Ohio Valley Chamber of Commerce is taking nominations for its annual awards.
The annual gala will return in 2023 and will be held March 9 at the Parkersburg Art Center. During the evening, the chamber will recognize eight businesses and individuals for their accomplishments in 2022 in the categories of:
* New Business of the Year
* Curb Appeal / Property Improvement Award
* Community Involvement Award
* Non-Profit Organization of the Year
* Small Business of the Year
* Chamber Volunteer of the Year
* Young Business Leader of the Year
* Business Person of the Year
The deadline for nominations is Jan. 13. The panel of judges will give preference to chamber members in reviewing the nominations. The most current member listing can be found on at the chamber website under Member Directory.
A business or person can be nominated under multiple categories.
A nominator can nominate multiple people and businesses in the same category and nominate themselves.
The nomination form asks for the basic contact information of the nominee. Also needed is contact information, name, company, address, email and phone, in the event the Annual Awards committee has any questions.
The last section of the nomination form asks for a brief narrative of 300 words or less about why the person or company that was nominated is deserving of the award.
Additional materials also will be accepted. For example, if nominating a business for the property improvement award, before and after photos of the renovations can be submitted. Instructions on where to submit the additional support materials can be found on the online nomination form.
Winners will be announced at the Annual Gala on March 9.
