Since the Nevada Secretary of State registers all business entities via its online database (SilverFlume), you can conduct a Nevada business entity search there by looking up the names of potential businesses. You’ll need to come up with a different name if a company already exists with the name you choose.
SilverFlume is simple to use and offers the following corporate entity search options:
- Business Name
- Entity Number
- NV Business ID Number
- Officer Name
- Registered Agent Name
For each of these main categories, there are search filters such as “Starts With,” “Contains” and “Exact Match.”
To search the database with the business name, you’ll need to enter the legal name of the business in the search field and click “Search” to view the results. Here’s an example of a result derived by searching the name “John Smith.”
